College of Science at University of Zakho to Hold Humanitarian Event Supporting Children with Cancer
The College of Science at the University of Zakho, in collaboration with Light Private School, has announced a humanitarian charity event titled “Candle Light” in support of children diagnosed with cancer. The initiative aims to collect donations and encourage community participation to provide both material assistance and moral support for child patients and their families. Noteworthy, the event underscores the University’s commitment to social responsibility and humanitarian engagement beyond the academic sphere. That is, it aspires to promote a culture of compassion, volunteerism, and civic participation.
This year’s event will take the form of a charitable bazaar, where all proceeds generated from sales will be donated to children diagnosed with cancer. Students are especially encouraged to participate and help in the bazaar by contributing items for sale. Participants may prepare Kurdish cuisine, create handicrafts, or offer any other suitable goods that can be sold during the event. Through active participation, students and community members alike will have the opportunity to directly support a meaningful cause and make a tangible difference in the lives of child patients.
The charity event will be held on Thursday, February 5, at Delal Bridge Corniche, from 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM, with the public invited to take part in this collective effort to bring hope and support to children battling cancer.
